A unique contemporary Moroccan necklace with Berber enamel silver pendant, Moroccan coins and antique coral beads.
A one of a kind piece of Moroccan jewelry, I designed this necklace around a sweet enameled and glass silver pendant I found in Marrakech on my last trip. Approximately 80 years old, it features a large square red glass cabachon with the green and gold enamel design that was so popular in Tiznit, Morocco and is adorned with old Moroccan coins and I’ve added the little hamsa hand pendant in the center.
Framing the pendant are antique coral beads with old Berber spacers, old Moroccan coins and old Yemeni silver beads. A length of double oval sterling silver chain leads to a sterling silver clasp and a 3" extender chain embellished with more antique coral beads allows you to adjust the length to suit - see the photos above for styling ideas.
Finished length: 18" + 3" extender chain and the Tiznit enamel and glass pendant with hamsa measures 3" high x 1.75" wide
(45cm long + 7.5cm extender chain and pendant measures 7.5cm high x 4.5cm wide)
This necklace is named "Siddhi" for a Hindu Goddess of fortune, whose name means success.
